My Grandma, Big G

As most of you may already know, my grandma past away yesterday. She has been bed ridden since August when she broke her hip, again. We thought her days were limited in August but boy did she prove us all wrong. My sister Cindi has been taking care of her and built a great bond with her. It was sad to see her life confined to a bed so we are happy to know she is in heaven enjoying her mobility once again but it is hard to know she is know longer with us. She has been apart of the Christensen household in Mesa for over 10 years since my parents added on an apartment suite to their house for Grandma. In May 2002, when Mark, Mary, Kimberly, and I were all graduating from NAU, everyone was up in Flagstaff for our graduation, including Grandma. That night, Grandma fell and cracked open her skull and had to have emergency surgery. She never really fully recovered from that fall but I am glad she was able to make it to my college graduation and wedding. She was always a big part of our family and we will miss her but know she is happy with Grandpa, Beathoven, and Chavez. My graduation picture with my family has always been one of my favorite pictures. It is kept in the entertainment center. Now when I look at it sitting on the shelf, it will mean so much more! These pictures were only a month apart but by looking at Grandma, you would have never guessed it. It is times like these that I am grateful to know the true meaning of life and know that one day I will be able to see her again. We love you Big G!

A Beautiful Day for Yardwork

Drew loves to play with Gizmo's tail!

Today was a beautiful day here in Gilbert. It rained this morning and has been cloudy all day. The temperature has been nice also, around 75. It was a perfect day to do some long awaited yard work. I pulled weeds in the front and backyard and Ryan pulled the weeds along the side of the house we called the jungle. When Drew woke up from his morning nap, he chilled outside while watching Daddy trim the Palm Tree. I love beautiful spring days like today!

Exersaucer Fun

Today, Ryan put together our exersaucer that my co-workers gave me. We put Drew in it and he had so much fun with the toys. He lasted about 15-20 minutes in it just playing with the toys. His back and neck muscles are getting really strong. He loves to stand on your lap. While in the exersaucer, he didn't want to keep his feet on the floor. He was pulling a Superman. We can't wait for him to be able to sit on the floor and play with toys. He is growing up sooo fast!

First Road Trip

I'm Ready to Go

This is Drew in the car on our way to Forest Lakes and on our way home. He found that he really enjoys eating his giraffe. It was quite the sight! At one point he was licking the giraffe as if it were an icecream cone. And yes, I know he is in 2 different outfits but he had quite the diaper at the cabin.

For our first trip, we went up to the Amann Cabin, up in Forest Lakes. Before we headed out, we took Drew on a walk and got him asleep. We thought he would sleep the whole time but he only slept 20 minutes. He was pretty good except for the last half hour. On the way back, we left right after he got up from his nap so he would be happy and he did really well. The last half hour he got squirmy and so we turned on an Einstein DVD and it entertained him the rest of the way home. We all had fun spending time with Rick and Karen and their children. It was very pretty and the weather was nice and cool. Gizmo went on his first quad ride and seemed to enjoy it. Drew pretty much ate and slept the whole time there. I am just thankful it only took 2 hours to get to Forest Lakes. Hopefully Drew will get better in his carseat. He used to love sleeping in it and now he doesn't do well in it... OH well!

Ryan, Jason (Ryan's nephew) and Gizmo had fun riding around the trails. Gizmo also loved jumping from the stairs inside the cabin!

Our Cutie-Pie

I am really excited to have finally started this blog. It makes it so much easier to keep in touch with family and friends. I am hoping it helps me to find more time to take pictures of my cutie pie, Drew. We just love him to pieces. He has the absolute cutest smile and laugh. He just brightens our day. He is absolutely perfect, minus the reflux, but we are working on it. The doctor gave us some advice that is helping. He loves watching Sesame Street and unfortunately Avatar too thanks to Daddy. He just loves the colors and music. The other day I had Unwrapped on from the Food Network and he just started laughing when he heard this same distinct noise. It was the cutest thing. I think his absolute favorite thing to do right now it to just chill on the floor and suck on his hand. We are so blessed to have him in our lives!!
