Our Precious Gizmo

I just wanted to pay tribute to our sweet little dog that passed away last night. Gizmo was hit by a car and died immediately, thank goodness. Please keep our family in your prayers. Gizmo was like our child. He was a total daddy's boy and loved Ryan and was Drew's best friend. He was my little buddy during the day while Ryan was at work. He was a one of a kind dog and was Mr. Popular on our street. Everyone loved him. It will be hard driving to Utah because Gizmo always came with us. We know he is in heaven now enjoying all the steak he wants. We love you Giz and miss you so much!

I Couldn't Resist

I know I am posting so many pictures on here of Kylee but I had to post one more...and maybe a few more if I get any more. Today, a friend in my ward asked if she could take pictures of Kylee for a project she was doing for her photography class. She did a fantastic job and here is my favorite one so far!

Kylee's Blessing

On Novemeber 9th, exactly one month after Kylee was born, Ryan gave her the most beautiful blessing at church. Ryan's parents came in town for it and his brother's family was there also. I had most of my family there too. We are so blessed to live close to our family. Ryan and I were both up late Saturday night getting things ready for Sunday, so we were a little tired Sunday morning but at least it wasn't freezing cold (literally) and our water freeze in the pipe, which would mean no running water. Yah, that's what happened for Drew's blessing but not for Kylee's. It truly was a beautiful day. As we were driving to our church, Ryan got really nervous but he was a trooper and survived. He hates getting up in front of people so I bet this was 100 times harder. After his blessing he came back and told me he had blessed her with patience because of her older brother. I thought that was really funny. She is already learning what it is like to have an older brother...she got hit in the head with a toy car today, by accident, and really let Drew know it was not alright and that it hurt! We got so many compliments on her blessing dress, which was a Walmart purchase. My sister Cindi made her bow which made her outfit complete. After church, we had a small luncheon at our house with our family and it turned out really nice. Thank you to all our family for your love and support. We love you all!
Our sweet angel

Thanks to Wendi for these beautiful pictures. She did a great job, even in the horrible lighting!

5 Weeks Already???

Where has the time go. I can't believe it has already been 5 weeks since I had Kylee. We went to her 1 month check up on Tuesday and she weighs 8 lbs and is 20 3/4 in long. She is in the 25% for weight and 30% for height. I was so proud of her weight gain because I think Drew only gained a half a pound at his 1 month check up.

Today I was finally getting sick of the newborn onsies and decided to pull out the 0-3 month onsies with the matching pants. It was a little big but the pants looked even bigger. Oh well, they look cute and I need a change of scenery on her. I only had 5 newborn outfits so a change was much needed. She still is a great baby. Just wish she would sleep longer stretches at night and go to bed earlier but hopefully it will come this month, so my pediatrician says. Today has been a good day of nursing, so my day is going well. We have our ups and downs in that department but I think we are almost done with thrush and then I might go see our lactation nurse if she doesn't improve. Some nights, I am ready to go to formula but the budget can't handle that extra cost so I keep nursing. I am just crossing my fingers it gets better.

I love her big toe...Ryan calls her monkey toes!

Weekend Fun

What a weekend we had. First off, Ryan's parents came in town and gave Drew his birthday present a few weeks early. We thought it would be nice for them to actually give it to him and see him playing with it in person. He got a Cozy Coupe car and absolutely loves it. He is still figuring out how to make it go fast when driving the car, so right now he likes to push it around in our backyard. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa.

Then on Saturday we went to my Mom's school Fall Festival and had tons of fun. This year was a lot more fun because Drew was of age to actually enjoy the whole thing. He loved riding the pony and pulled a tantrum when it was time to get off. He also loved the bouncing house but his favorite was the little miniature inflatable obstacle course. It was so perfect for him. I am so glad we decided to go. I enjoyed eating my cotton candy and nachos and Kylee enjoyed her nap. Of course we forgot our camera and my sister's camera died so sorry, no pics! It was a fun but exhausting day. I stayed up till midnight getting everything ready for the luncheon we were having at our house after church. I was finishing up getting Kylee's outfit put together and making 8 dozen rolls. Thanks Sara again for the yummy recipe. We blessed Kylee on Sunday and Ryan gave a very nice blessing. I will post more on that when I get pictures, hopefully tomorrow!

What the....

Today I learned how to hold my tongue and even my breath (and counted to 10). I was sitting on the computer this afternoon working on a few things for Kylee's blessing this Sunday and realized it was kind of quiet in the family room. I know this should be nice but in our house, quiet means some little boy is getting into trouble. So I get to the family room and Drew is not in there. Then I walk into my bedroom and into the bathroom and find this....

and this

I about died. I actually am very proud of myself for how I handled things. I didn't yell or spank or strangle my son. I just talked very sternly and let Drew know how disappointed I was in him and how he doesn't need to get into Mommy's things. I about died when his bottom lip started to quiver and I could tell he was trying not to cry. But I kept my composure so I wouldn't laugh because I didn't want him to think this was funny....you might think so but I couldn't laugh at it until after I spent an hour cleaning up the mess, a nap, and Ryan getting home and seeing what was left. Yes, I still have purple marks on my counter. This stuff is practically purple dye that I have been using on Kylee and me because we are suffering from a case of Thrush. I really hate Thrush. You can get it over the counter for really cheap and it is suppose to be better and faster than the medicine the doctor gives you. All I can say is I hate the color purple at the moment. I have a purple boy, a purple hand from cleaning it up, a baby with a purple mouth, and now a purple counter. I cleaned it up the best I can but there are still some purple smudges. I will try again tomorrow and hope it comes clean, if not, I guess we get a new counter top!

Halloween

Halloween was a lot more fun this year. Drew was a cow and Kylee was a Kitty. My sister, Cindi, made her a little tutu...it was so cute, Thanks! Drew loved going with Daddy and his cousins trick or treating. He got lots of candy and was really good at holding up his pumpkin bucket to get candy. Next year Kylee will have more fun. She ate while the kids went around my Mom and Dad's neighborhood. It was a fun night but we seriously need to get rid of the candy in our house.

We love it when the cousins come over to play, especially Drew! The other day I was watching them and left the room and came back to Carter putting the burp rag on Kylee and 2 toy links. He was in the process of putting a 3rd one on her too but I came into the room and had a good laugh. I had to take a picture to show Julie! Kylee just kept sleeping.

Kylee is still being a great baby for me. She has her off nights where I don't get a lot of sleep but those are very few and most nights are great. Drew is doing great too. He gets upset if the baby is crying and wants to make her happy. He is starting to be a big helper and loves to give his sister hugs and kisses. We went on our first adventure outside our neighborhood on Thursday and we all survived. We went to the mall with my sisters and their kids. It really wasn't too bad after I figured out how to open the double stroller. I had to call Ryan after a few tries and it wouldn't open. I felt like a real dork in the parking lot but I got it open and off we went. Kylee slept the whole time till we were ready to leave. The car put her back to sleep. I am glad I have one child that will sleep in the car!
