Must Read Book

Oh my gosh, I can't say enough about this book I just read yesterday called "The Message" by Lance Richardson. My sister-in-law, Karen, recommended it to me and let me borrow her copy and I didn't think I could but read it all in one day. I am going to buy a copy so anyone who wants to borrow it from me, just let me know. It is about this guy who gets really sick and goes into a coma and tells about his experience in the Spirit World. He is LDS but writes the book so perfectly for anyone. I couldn't put it down and was so touched by the things I read, especially about other people who have passed on. It really puts life into perspective for you and makes you remember why you are here on this Earth. It is great if you have lost a loved one also. So everyone, go and read this book.

So this week has been another crazy one for us. Let me just say 4 words: Bag Balm & Corn Starch! Those were our mircle supplies this week. Yes, Drew has been battling diarreah now for a week and then I got it a few days later. It has acually been going around my family and it was just a matter of time before it came into our house. I thought Drew was done with it on Sunday, but I was wrong. It really hasn't been bad except for his poor bottom. My brother-in-law told me to use corn starch because the bag balm wasn't helping 100%. Corn starch is now my best friend. I actually figured out if you use bag balm first then sprinkle the corn starch on, it is the best protection ever and his tooshy is finally looking better! So hopefully it will pass soon. Drew is still surviving without his binky but wakes up at 6 AM and can't go back to sleep. He has a hard time with change and takes him anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get through it. Hopefully it is only 2 weeks this time. He is still napping good though but I think it is just because he wakes up so early and is exhausted by naptime. Well, have a great week everyone and read The Message!

No More Binkies in Drew's Bed

Sunday night was a very sad night for Drew. He said goodbye to his binky and threw it in the garbage. He has actually done pretty good without his beloved binky, but he is still adjusting. He only used it during nap time and bedtime and I was really dreading the day I would take it away, because he has become quite a good sleeper but I finally did it. He had a rough day yesterday but Monday and today have been pretty good. It just makes me so sad because now he dreads going to sleep whereas before he was so good and wouldn't put up a fight. I am hoping it will pass by next week!

It really has been a crazy week for us, since we got back from UT. I wasn't feeling good all week and come Saturday and Sunday, my pains turned into a bladder infection. So Monday I was able to get a prescription and feeling better but not 100%. Then we did the whole binky thing Sunday and my sweet Drew has been quite the whiner and grouch during the day. It makes my patience very thin but I love being able to put him to bed and have a fresh start the next day.

Then yesterday, we sold our Saturn! We were very excited because we were really worried it would take forever and we wouldn't get what we wanted out of it. I posted it for sale on Craigslist on Friday and only had one guy interested but I didn't hear back from him till Monday. Then, Tuesday he wanted to come and see it and we got what we wanted out of it. We were really blessed because with the economy and all, I thought we would not get what we wanted but Heavenly Father is blessing us. This was our first car we bought after getting married and our first dealership experience, which we will try and stay away from in the future. It was sad to see it go, but relieved to be done with it. Now if only Ryan can get that dang good raise next month we will be in much better shape for the baby!

We're Back!

It is so nice to be home, even if it is in 100 degree temps. Today wasn't too bad with a high of 99. Just alot of humidity. We had a nice vacation up in UT for the 4th of July. Ryan had a family reunion on the 5th so that was the whole purpose in going. We were able to see our good friends Jacob and Kelly in SLC with their 2 cute kids. We had fun catching up with them and glad they are doing so well in Iowa. We also got to see my good friend Bethany in Herriman on Monday. She has the cutest kids and Drew had fun playing with them. We also had fun seeing all of Ryan's family. Drew loved being with Grandpa and followed him everywhere. Gizmo ate too much and by Monday was moping because of a tummy ache. All in all, it was a great trip, even though it cost us $300 in gas! OUCH! I don't think we will be going on anymore vacations out of state until gas prices go back down. That is just too much money we don't have. Drew is happy to be home also. He wouldn't take his nap on Tuesday after we got home because all he wanted to do was play with his toys. Wednesday morning, Ryan took the day off and I came home from my Presidency Meeting to find Drew in his favorite chair, just chillin watching his cartoons and eating a snack. It was so cute I had to take a picture. That is becoming his favorite chair to just "chill" in. So now, we are back to our normal routine and crossing our fingers hard we get some good rain tonight!

She's Still a Girl

I went to my doctor's appointment this morning and had another ultra sound and the doctor is still sure she is a girl. She loves to move around first thing in the morning and when I am trying to go to sleep but during the day, she is pretty quiet. So of course, she didn't want to cooperate again but Dr. Tutt was able to get a good look at her bottom and there was still no male parts. Here is a head shot of her with that little blob above her face is actually her wrist. We are really excited and Drew has learned that when I say, "Where's the baby?" he points to my stomach. It is so cute, except this morning, he decided to point to his tummy. It was a good laugh. He will be a great big brother. Well, we are off to UT to get out of this 112 degree heat. I am really starting to die here because the humidity just kicked in this week. I can handle the heat, but not the humidity. It is suppost to be in the 90's in Provo! Yay, no 100's for us for a week!!! We hope everyone has a fabulous Fourth of July!
