An Exciting Weekend

This past weekend we had the Christensen Family Gathering up in Pinetop. It was a lot of fun and we were glad to get away from the 114 degree weather in the valley. It was Drew's first overnight trip. Lets just say the first night, none of us got any sleep. The second night was a little better but he still had issues. The problem is he doesn't like his Pack n Play. I am really worried because we are going up to Utah next week for 5 days. I need more than 4 hours of sleep each night. Kimberly brought her crib mattress up and Dallin did really well so we are going to try that in Utah. Hopefully it works. As you can see from the video, Drew is about ready to crawl. I am really excited, some might not, but I am. Drew gets very frustrated easily and if he is trying to grab a toy and can't get it, he wines till he finally can reach it or someone moves it to him. Crawling will solve this problem. Our little man is growing up right before our eyes!

Sleeping Drew

So, a few nights ago, I went in to check on Drew just after I put him down. I always do this because I love to see what position he is in. He has some of the funniest sleeping positions. This time, he decided to prop his legs and feet up on his bumper. It was so hilarious. As I was laughing I bumped the crib and he moved into a flat position. I was so mad so I had Ryan prop his legs back up so I could take a picture. The original view was much better than this picture, but you get the idea!

First Play Date

Yesterday, Drew had his first play date. It was a lot of fun. Before our ward was split in January, I was in the Primary Presidency. The President, Jessica, and I both got pregnant about the same time. Our due dates were 9 days apart. I ended up going a few days early and had Drew on December 6 and she was 2 weeks early and had Connor on the 7th. They were 24 hours apart. They were both born at the same hospital and because I only stayed 24 hours in the hospital, Jessica actually got my same room. It was fun seeing her and bringing Drew into her room while she was in labor! But yesterday was the first time Drew and Connor saw each other. The boys had a lot of fun and so did us Moms! It was fun catching up on old times and seeing how her ward is doing and my ward. The other counselor, Mary, was there also and had fun with us. It was a fun first play date with many more to come! Ryan and I both miss our ward. It has been quite the adjustment but our new ward is great also!

Trying to Scoot!

Drew has finally figured out how to scoot but is not consistent. He was doing it all day yesterday but I didn't have the camera. He only does a few scoots and then plays. It is so cute. He gets on his tippy toes and sticks his butt in the air and pushes. I tried all day to get it on video but no luck. I will try another day. Too much drama for one week. That video is from last weekend. I am glad I have finally figure out how to post vidoes to my blog. I was surprised at how easy it was. It will make it nice for our out of town family and friends to see Drew at work. He loves to use his voice while playing around. He is such a good little boy. My favorite picture is the push-up. We took his pants off to see if it would help him to scoot better but it didn't help. I am having fun with him during the week. I am teaching summer school for June but that is only in the morning. After that we get to play for the rest of the afternoon and evening, minus nap time and bed time!

6 months already??!!

Drew loves his Einstein gym. His favorite hanging toy is the ladybug.

Yes, Drew is now 6 months old. He is getting so big and his personality is really coming out. He survived his 6 month shots and did really well. We were happy that he didn't seem bothered by them or get a fever. He is growing up so fast. He is officially 15 lbs. 4 oz. and is 25 inches long. Yes, his one cousin Brandon who is 4 months is already bigger than him, and Dallin, his other cousin, will probably pass him in a month or two. What can I say, he has the Amann genes of being tiny when little but sprouting when older. We are happy to finally feed Drew solid foods. He has only had yams but loves them. Tomorrow we are starting carrots. He has been eating cereal for a month now and loves it too. His reflux has gotten worse but hopefully we can get rid of it without medicine. Drew is just our happy, sweet little boy. We love to make him smile and laugh. He loves to roll to get his toys and tries to scoot but can't quite get there. One day he will figure it out. He is sitting up really well and can kind of play with his toys while sitting for a little bit. It will only get better!
