Silly Boy

The past few days, the weather hasn't been that bad here in Gilbert because of all the rain we have been receiving. We've been in the 90's for a few days! Yesterday, Drew decided he wanted to play outside and found the wagon on the side of the house. He put his vacuum in it and pulled the wagon all the way around to the back porch. Then, he decided to get in it and vacuum the wagon. It was so cute. The pictures don't do it justice because I couldn't even get him to look at the camera once again.

Then this morning, I was cleaning my house (normally this is a Friday chore but I have to work tomorrow so I decided to do it today) and Drew has to get his vacuum and follow me around and help me vacuum. He even does the same actions as I do. It is funny. Well, lately he has found the bottom part of my curio cabinet. Yesterday he hid his vacuum in it and then tried to hide himself in it when it was time for a diaper change. I tried to get a picture but he wouldn't pose for me. But today, he did the same thing just before we headed out to the mall, and to my excitement, he finally posed for me. It was hillarious. What a goober. It's a good thing he is so cute because as we speak right now, he won't take a nap! We went to the mall with my sisters and I got home past naptime and didn't give him enough time to unwind...I had my visiting teachers coming over so he only had 15 min to unwind. Well, apparently that wasn't enough and he only slept for 45 min. I am a mean mom and won't get him up. He is just playing in there. He needs to unwind somehow!

Playing in the Rain

We had a nice downpour yesterday with a whole inch of rain in Gilbert. Drew was really excited. It's a good thing he decided to get up early from his nap so he could play in the rain. He had a lot of fun. Don't let the picture fool you. He was too interested in the rain and watching his step that he didn't want to look at the camera. I was literally yelling at him and finally got him to look at me. He was loving it!

Last week was a crazy one for us. I ended up working Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and I was quite tired with tutoring on top of that! I had babysitters lined up and my sister watched Drew on Monday and during his nap he decided to climb out of the pack-n-play! He thought he was done napping. Well, it's a good thing Ryan ended up sick for the rest of the week so I had a babysitter for Drew my other 2 days I worked. I don't know what I am going to do in a few weeks when I have to work a whole week. I always get suckered into substituting for my friends. Ryan keeps telling me it is Christmas money and that is how I get through the day. Christmas actually arrived today for me. I ordered a bunch of things online at Kohl's because I had a 30% off coupon that only worked online. I was so excited when the UPS guy pulled up to my house! Anyways, we are all healthy once again at our house and now Drew is adjusting to his new bedroom. We put him in the spare bedroom and putting the baby in his old room. It works out great. Her room is almost done and Drew's new room is coming together nicely. They are just simple rooms or else I would take a picture for all to see, but nothing fancy! Well, we're crossing our fingers for more rain tonight. We'll see if it happens...we love the monsoons!

Finally

Life is finally getting back to normal. Drew's mouth sores finally past on Wednesday and Thursday, I spent the day sanitizing everything in the house with sanitizing spray and actually wiping down all his toys with disinfecting wipes. Wow, were his toys dirty. Maybe it was a good thing Drew got sick so I would clean everything really good, just in time for the baby! Last night was the best night we had so far. Drew has been going down for his naps around 12:30 and gets up between 3:15 and 3:30 so we have been putting him to bed at 7 PM. Well, he got up at 7 AM this morning. I was in heaven. We hope he continues on this path to sleeping better. Cross our fingers. So our house is officially germ free and hopefully it stays that way. I feel like we have always been battling something since we got back from UT in July. So this is my happy boy this morning. He insisted on wearing his sunglasses to the grocery store.

Anyone who wants to get some good recipes has to visit http://happylifekitchen.blogspot.com/ My friend Sara is an awesome cook and has some really good recipes. I made her Soy Chicken the other night and Ryan asked if I would make it again the next night. It is on our menu again this week! It was so easy and quick, dinner was ready in 20 minutes tops. I also made her cookies last night and they were delicious. Keep the yummy recipes coming Sara!

PS- We were up till 12:30 this morning watching the Olympics! Go USA! We were so excited that USA won gold and silver in the women's gymnastics. I am glad gymnastics is almost over because it has been some pretty late nights for me staying up watching to see who wins!

A Picture Says a Thousand Words

This was Drew the other morning. It is one thing after another in our house. I swear, we can never win. I really can't wait for things to get back to "normal", if it ever will. Drew has been sick since Saturday and Monday I took him to the doctor expecting him to have Strep because of the white bumps in his mouth on his throat but his sore throat turned into mouth sores. Poor little guy. The doctor said that I caught it early and the worst is yet to come. Oh great is all I was thinking. These sores are very painful...they burn. We are lucky they didn't spread further in his mouth but stayed in the back on his throat. The bad thing, it hurts to swallow. So starting Sunday night and until Tuesday afternoon, Drew wouldn't eat anything. We tried everything from jello to yogurt. We finally got him to eat ice cream yesterday but that was after Ryan forced it into his mouth. After a few tears, Drew realized he wanted more. I think this virus peaked out yesterday morning with vomiting and diarrhea. Ya, it was a fun day yesterday but I think the worst is behind us. I got Drew to take 2 good naps yesterday and he slept 10 hours straight last night without waking up, a first in a while, and he is now back asleep for his first nap this morning. He is acting much happier and eating a little bit more. I really have missed my happy little boy and hope we get him back soon!
And Motrin has been my best friend this week!

Not Much Going On

I know I have been horrible at updating my blog, but there really isn't much going on. I keep forgetting to have Ryan look at my camera because all the pictures I take come out blury so this one was the best one. I watched my 2 neicces today and Drew loves playing with his cousins. I thought this was a cute picture of Kennedy and him eating a snack together while watching Oswald. What cuties! Hadlee was there too but on the floor.
So, we are still trying to survive without the binky...STILL I am so tempted to give in and give it back to him because Drew is driving me crazy. Some days are better than others but yesterday was the worst because he wouldn't take a nap. He was so tired but wouldn't let his body fall asleep. I was so happy when Ryan got home. It was just one of those days with everything going wrong. I won't even go there with all the problems. Hopefully, things will get back to normal and I can have my sweet boy back. His temper tantrums are getting worse too! I think it is because he is so cranky, but what is a mother to do. Anyways, that is pretty much our life. Just trying to survive.
Baby Update: I am finally in my 3rd trimester and boy does it feel like it. I am starting to get tired and just getting stuff done around the house has been quite the challenge once again. I just don't have as much energy anymore. Plus, my memory is completely gone.

I can't wait for the temperature to get cooler so Drew can enjoy the backyard for more than 20 minutes and not sweat to death. I feel bad cooping him up the house all day. He just loves the outside and loves to climb on anything. He also loves his tractor and I have a video of it that I will post next time. So stay tuned for that!
