Easter Surprise

Don't you love his new Easter Shirt. I splurged a little because it looked so good on him!

I really haven't been feeling all that well lately so I wasn't even in the mood to put together an Easter basket for Drew who doesn't even understand Easter, but when we went to church this morning we found a surprise on our doorstep. The Easter Bunny decided we needed a basket full of candy and books. We even had bunny prints on our driveway. Thanks Mom for the fun surprise.

Later, after surviving my Sharing Time, we went to my parents for yummy Easter dinner full of ham and turkey and deviled eggs. Boy were we all stuffed. Then we had a fun Easter Egg Hunt. Each grandchild had a different colored egg to find. My mom and dad scattered the eggs across the front lawn. Remember, all the kids were under 5. It was alot of fun. Drew definately had his share of candy today. It really was a great Easter. Don't think we didn't get Drew anything. We did get him a playhouse that Ryan and I put together a few weeks ago. I found it on clearance in January for an awesome price and decided to save it for Easter. Drew loves playing in it. I will have to get a picture of him in it sometime this week. You will just have to settle with pictures of Drew and the vaccuum we borrowed from Mason and Carter. And yes Julie, it is one of his most favorite toys...Thanks!

In this picture, Drew is admiring our new home theater system. He broke our old one about 6 months ago and Ryan's Dad tried to fix it but it was a lost cause. We really liked it and didn't want to buy a new one because they are a little expensive. We got our first one free with our huge TV when we moved into our house. So we took it to a store to see how much it would cost to fix it and they quoted us $200. Yah right. Might as well buy a new one. So after searching and searching and saving my tutoring mone, I found a great deal on this Samsung one on Ebay. Ryan hooked it up Friday and we have already watched 2 movies and forgot how nice it was to watch a movie with surround sound. I don't think we can ever go without it again. It really does make a difference. Once your hooked, your hooked. So now Drew isn't allowed to touch this one!

Drew's Favorites

I am so glad it is a new week, and this week has started off great. Last weekend, Drew got a fever and kept it till Tuesday morning. Thank goodness he had his 15 month check up on Wednesday. By then the fever was gone and he was a perfectly healthy LITTLE boy. Yes, he is our little boy. He lost 1/2 a pound from being sick but at least he is still 20 pounds. He is 29 1/2 inches tall. He is in the less than 5% for weight, 10% for height, and 50% in his head. So I have a short boy with a big head!!! He is definitely a cutie and loves to show off, especially to our doctor. I don't think I am going to switch doctors after all. Drew loves his doctor and goes right up to her and wants her to pick him up and hold him. It is so cute. She is moving in May which makes my commute 20 min. instead of 10 min. but I think we will try it for a few times. So life is starting to get back on track. Dr. Hall checked Drew's ear tubes and everything looks great. I was very relieved to hear that. As for his red cheeks, he just has really sensitive skin and I found a great lotion that works good so I just have to keep that up. Since his doctors appointment, each day seems to be getting better. We finally just had to ignore him when he would wake up in the middle of the night because we think he just wanted our attention and since then, he sleeps through the night once again!!!!! This morning he slept in till 8:00 and he did that on Saturday too and he his taking 2 hour and 40 min. naps which is really nice for me. I think my sleep deprived nights finally are starting to catch up to me because last week I was not feeling well. Hopefully this week is a better week.

So Drew has a few favorites, of course there is always balloons. I hate going to stores that have balloons. He sees them and then wants one so bad that sometimes he throws the biggest fits. He loves any kind of box. He can keep himself occupied for 30 min. or more just playing with a box. He also loves toothbrushes. He has to brush his teeth with me every morning. He lets me know if I forget to give him his toothbrush. He also loves to push things. Tonight he got his chair out and pushed it throughout the whole house. It kept his occupied for 20 min. until it was time for bed. We had to take Carter and Mason's play vacuum home the other day because Drew wouldn't put it down the whole time he was there which was 1 hour and 15 min. He had to hold it the whole way home.

Wow, can you believe Drew is 15 months? Where does the time go. He is developing quite a cute personality and we just love him to pieces. He says Gizmo, Mom, Dad, Nana, hot, hot dog, and thank you. I think he says a few more but can't think off the top of my head. He loves to show off and loves to get into things he is not suppose to. Definitely keeps us on our toes!

4 AM Laughs

I really can't wait until next Wednesday when I get to take Drew to the Doctor for his 15 month check up. He has just been so grumpy and Mr. Attitude lately. It is driving me crazy. And to top it off, he has been waking up throughout the night and usually at 4 or 5 AM thinking it is playtime. So, the other morning I finally get up to make sure he has his binky and remind him with actions that it is still bedtime (putting him on his tummy and patting his back). I try not to talk to him at all. While he is laughing and having a good ol' time in his crib, he is also listening for me. When he hears me walking to his door he stops and when I open the door, he lays motionless pretending to be asleep with eyes closed but a little smirk on his mouth. I do my usual actions and close the door and back to bed. Well, he gets up 10 min. later and starts making noises and I wait another 15 min. and go in there. This time he has a bigger smirk on his face and he is trying to keep his eyes closed but I could see little slits of his eyes. It was too funny. He was trying so hard to pretend to be alseep that he couldn't control his excitement. I had to laugh and give him a little tickle. He finally did go back to sleep after about an hour. Last night I decided he is probably playing around just so he can get me to come into his room. So this morning I ignored him. I really don't know what time he fell back to sleep because I went back to sleep myself. Hopefully whatever it is, it will pass quickly because I would like to have my cute, happy boy back. I hate Mr. Attitude!

Sorry, no pics. I tried to add a graphic but it never works.
