Our First Adventure

We finally went out on our first adventure this morning. Ryan finally put the double stroller together and we took a nice walk around our community. It was really nice outside and both Drew and I needed to get out of the house. Kylee caught Drew's cold over the weekend and was very congested on Monday. She had her second doctor's appointment and the doctor was a little concerned because it could turn into RSV very easily. So we have kept it low key and been hermits again this week. As of Monday, Kylee weighed 6 lbs 10oz. She had almost gained back all her birth weight. I was so impressed and so was the doctor. Now I know she is eating plenty. She has pretty much put herself on a schedule and still sleeps really well. I am just blessed with good babies. Hopefully she stays a sweet angel!Yesterday was very exciting for Ryan. He found out that he got a good raise....YAY! I think I was more excited than Ryan. Drew and I did a happy dance after I got off the phone with him. It was such an answer to our prayers and just in time to pay for the hospital bills. Congrats Ryan...you deserve every penny!
Last week, Drew had his first experience with Chocolate Pudding. As you can see, he liked it. The last picture is Drew eating lunch and deciding he needed to poop. He can get in the funniest positions when trying to poop!

Yes, he is watching Pinky Dinky Doo...a favorite lunchtime show.

Has It Already Been a Week??

Time is really flying. I can't believe Kylee is already a week old. This really has been a good week. Drew has been spoiled by my sisters and mom with attention and he now wants to go with them everywhere. He is finally wanting to be by the baby and hold her. I am still working on getting a picture of him holding her...he was having a little attitude tonight.

Kylee had some issues with nursing after being home a day but we are back on track and doing great. Drew is back to sleeping through the night and Kylee is going 4 to 5 hour stretches. So I am getting a few hours of sleep at night which is nice. I am so thankful to live so close to my family. They have been great in helping out with Drew and bringing in meals so I don't have to cook....Thank you!

The only bad thing since having Kylee, besides being cooped up in the house, is not eating chocolate. Do you know how much I love chocolate....well, I don't know how people can get by not eating it. I craved it so much while being pregnant and now I have to stop, but the cravings don't stop. I am going through withdrawals, it is bad. But it is all in the name of a mother's love. For some reason, Kylee is having a hard time with my milk and we narrowed it down to chocolate. Hopefully that is it because I don't think I can bare to get rid of my dairy. So hopefully this is just temporary because hot chocolate season is right around the corner!

But life is great and we are loving our sweet little girl and cute boy! Oh, do you like Drew's haircut? His hair was getting really long and I tried to cut it really fast and totally screwed up. Thank goodness my mom was planning on cutting it that night anyways. She cut it really short. I like it but miss his longer hair sometimes...Ryan has a different opinion!

We're Home!

Yes, we are home. We actually got home yesterday afternoon. Drew was having a hard time not having his Mommy and had a horrible night while I was away, so I thought it was best to only stay 24 hours at the hospital. We are all doing well and Kylee is really a great baby. She is eating and sleeping well and just so well mannered. She doesn't cry much and is just so content wherever she is. So we all survived the first night home!

She's Here!

Kylee Sharon finally made her debut at 1:45 PM. I really can't complain, it was an easy delivery. I stayed at a 7 for a while so at 12:30, the nurse gave me a little petocin to speed up the process. At 1:30ish, the doctor was watching my progress and saw "something on the monitor" and checked me again and I was ready. I pushed 3 times and was only in the pushing position for no more than 5 minutes before she came out. Ryan got to cut the cord and I held her and fell in love immediately. After 30 minutes, I nursed her and boy is she a good nurser! She latched on immediately and ate for 30 minutes...quite the opposite of Drew. The only unpleasant experience I had was throwing up a few times but once I got some medicine, I felt much better. I had the best nurse again and love Banner Gateway Hospital. I think they truly have the best nurses around. Anyway, we are loving our little girl and can't wait for her to meet her big brother!
This isn't the best picture because I brought the camcorder cable for downloading pictures and not the camera one. So tomorrow I will have better pictures.

At the Hospital

We are at the hospital right now. Our little one should be here in a few hours. I had contractions throughout the night but didn't bother me till 5 AM. We headed to the hospital at 7 AM and was dilated to a 5. I got my epidural at 9:00 and at 9:30 I was at a 7. So hopefully just a few more hours! It is just a waiting game now so that is why I am writing this!

Is It Getting Close, Yet?

This is one of my favorite pictures of Drew when he was only a week old. Soon, we will be adding another one of these adorable babies into our home. We are getting really excited. I had my doctor's appointment yesterday and I am 75% effaced and dilated to a 2 and her head is really low. YAY! But I told her she wasn't allowed to come until Sunday because my doctor is now out of town until late Saturday night. I just love my doctor and only want him to deliver me but what can I do if she decides to come before Sunday?? I will take her anytime! We will just have to wait and see what happens. I had lots of contractions last night and thought maybe it was time but felt like false labor, like I went through with Drew, so I wasn't worried and by 10PM, the contractions were gone. So I guess all I can say is, stay tuned!

It's Finally Fall...well, almost

Today is suppose to be the last day of triple digits here and I am so excited. We are suppose to be in the mid 80's by the weekend. Now in my mind, once you hit the 90's it is fall, even though according to Mother Nature Fall started a week and a half ago. No more 100 temps until next year...YAY!!!! Now I can start to take Drew on walks again and I can let him play in the sand box more because he won't sweat too death. The picture is a result of sweat and sand covering a little boy from head to toe. I am sure we had some poopy sand too the next day! ;) It seriously is a fight every afternoon, telling Drew he can't get in the sand box because I hate cleaning him up. So I try and let him do it every other day when it is bath night. But now, with the cooler temps, I won't care because I can just brush him off easily!

Anyways, yesterday I had my doctor's appointment and it was the first time he "checked" me. I am dilated to a 1 and 50% effaced. He was surprised by how soft I was and already at 50% and was able to touch her head. I left the doctors office feeling very stressed because I hadn't packed my hospital bag and still had tons to do before the baby came. Now some might say I need to chill but I had cramps all day yesterday and then last night I had contractions. So, yes, I was a little stressed. And of course Ryan worked late yesterday so I couldn't go and get a few errands done and Drew woke up that morning with attitude and stayed that way for the rest of the day. I was exhausted by the time my hubby got home but I did get my errands done and finished a few this morning. So now I am officially ready to have this little girl! Watch, now she won't come till closer to her due date... but that's OK because I am prepared. I just have 2 more cleaning projects left to do and my to do list is finished. We will just have to wait and see when she decides to come. I found out yesterday that my doctor is going out of town next Wednesday to Sunday so hopefully she can work around his schedule because I would prefer him to deliver me, but I know I can't control what she wants to do! Anyways, that's our life here. Now, I am going to go and take my nap while Drew is taking his!
