Disneyland, Finally!!!

Ok, I know I am a slacker. I have just been so busy lately. So a few weeks ago we took the kids to Disneyland. It was just a short trip there and back. Left Sunday, went to Disneyland on Monday, and came back Tuesday. And sorry for the lack of pictures. It is so hard to remember to take one till it is too late. And I thought Ryan took some, but just looked and he didn't. Oh well!

I was really worried about my kids and their attitudes and the sleeping arrangements, but it really was a good trip. Kylee struggled in the car on the way there but on the way back I think she was just so tired, she was Ok to just watch DVDs with Drew. We loved our hotel we stayed at. It literally was a 5 min. walk outside the hotel to the ticket counter at Disneyland. I really wanted to get a suite so our kids could go to bed earlier than us but it was too pricey so we stuck with the basic hotel room which worked out fine. Ryan and I just found ourselves going to bed earlier than normal and eating Cold Stone in the dark on the floor with the light of our cell phone guiding our spoons! Oh the memories we made.

If you click on the picture, you can see Drew and Ryan in the second seat from the front.

So Drew just loved going to "Mickey's house" as we called it but Kylee didn't have patience for it. I am glad I brought lots of snacks for her. I am also glad I brought just the single stroller because she didn't want anything to do with that stroller which worked out because Drew wanted to sit in it. I thought it would be the other way around. We got to ride all the rides we thought the kids would like, and the longest wait we had was 25 min. for Peter Pan. We usually only had to wait 5 to 10 min. It was the perfect day for the crowds and the weather. It was partly cloudy and 65 degrees and I would think anything higher than 70 would break the sweat! So Drew's favorite rides were Autopia, the Buzz Lightyear ride, and Gadget's Go Coaster. At the very beginning, Ryan went on Splash Mountain while we watched and Drew got so upset he couldn't go on it. He threw a tantrum when we left so we headed to the little kids roller coaster and Drew had such a blast. At the end of the day, we had 30 min. before the park was closing and Drew wanted to ride the roller coaster again. I felt bad I couldn't take him, so Ryan sacrificed his time away from Big Thunder Mountain to take Drew. It ended our Disneyland trip perfectly. Started with his favorite and ended with his favorite. He rode his 3 favorite rides each at least 4 or 5 times. It was nice having a hotel room across the street because Kylee was being uncooperative and would not take a nap in the stroller so we walked to the room and took a nap while Drew and Ryan rode more rides. We met up for dinner at McDonald's and had the energy to stay till the park closed, which was 9 PM AZ time. We then took the kids swimming in the heated pool to calm them down before bed. It was a fun day. The next day before heading home, we drove to Newport Beach and had fun building a sand castle and playing on the beach. It was so windy and a little cold, but now my kids can say they have been to the beach. Can't wait to go again, but who knows when that will be!

Fun! I looked at the schedule for when we're going, and I'm so bummed that Big Thunder Mtn is going to be closed while we're there :( Oh well; all the other good stuff will be open. I'm glad you guys went and had a fun time!
